Carolyn Petty has over 20 years of financial executive experience couple with general management, operations and technology systems implementation. She earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in Finance and Accounting from the University of Arizona and earned an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Ms. Petty has many years of philanthropic and public service. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Double Strand VHL Cancer Research Foundation, she currently serves on the advisory board for Walk With Sally. She is the former Mayor and Councilmember of the City of Hermosa Beach. She also serves as the Secretary Treasurer for the Los Angeles Division of the California League of Cities. She formerly served on the Board of Directors and as CFO of Harbor Interfaith Services, an agency dedicated to helping the homeless and working poor. She also was an active board member of the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation.
Having experienced the effects of cancer in her own family, Ms. Petty was inspired by the efforts of those in search of a cure and more effective treatment. Her hope is that as awareness is raised, research efforts will increase and provide hope to those suffering from VHL.
